Pul is needed in seven Rune Words. The Hellforge on nightmare or hell difficulty has a 1 in 11 chance to drop a Pul rune as part of its quest reward. Hel rune is a socketable item, level 15 rune used to gain magical bonus properties from weapons and armor, and craft runewords in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. From there you need two of each rune, up to Zod. Assuming no mistakes or missed runes, it would take you 78 years to up the Zod is the highest ranking rune available and basically never drops.
